Yet another Android powered smartphone. But,this one has something new to look for. It is tagged as the “Cheapest Android smartphone” under the galaxy series. It is a well equipped competitor of Nokia Asha series phone. Previously Samsung Galaxy Y was the cheapest android powered smartphone by Samsung priced at 5,890 INR. With its cheapest android smartphone Samsung has intensified the war between the handset makers like Nokia, Micromax and Karbon.

Technical Specification of Samsung Star(Cheapest Android Smartphone)

The Samsung Star is a dual-SIM device, powered by A5 1GHz processor and the latest Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)out of the box. It has a 3-inch capacitive touch screen, 2 megapixel rear camera and 512 MB RAM. It comes with a  4GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB. It is priced at 5,240 INR.

According to CMR(CyberMedia Research),”Samsung was the category leader with 43 per cent market share followed by Nokia (13.3 per cent) and Sony (8.2 per cent)”.

“We are expecting more growth in this sector. Since, this sector is easily affordable we are hoping to get some more good featured smartphones in the upcoming months”, Stuffchip’s prediction.
