The battlefield is changing. The methodology of war between leading branding is taking new shape. Once there was a scenario where specification was the main parameter of competition but now the shape has taken the place. With the release of curvaceous Samsung Galaxy Round, the users now would prefer something morphologically different but yet elegant.
The early rumours of curved screen proved true by the Samsung. We had confirmed news that LG would be revealing world’s first curved phone, but now over crossed LG and Launched Galaxy Round.
The company released this device late this Tuesday and it resembles Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 but with a slightly dip across the middle which give the device a curved shape. The device is rigid in nature and doesn’t actually bend or deviates. The shape comfortable enough for the users to use and fits the face contour. The sensors are somewhat custom designed which lets you control your apps, music and notification system in a different style.
Samsung commented that this unique curved design can give a quite good amount of advantage to the users like Roll Effect which enable to check notification bar, and information like date, time, missed call and battery , even if the screen is off.
The call it as gravity effect by making more interactive visual by tilting the device to any side.
Samsung also quoted, “When the Galaxy Round’s display is off while the music player is running, a short press to the left of the device will play the previous track while a short press to the right will play the next track. For pictures and videos, the Side Mirror feature enables users to gain access to list of the album content with a left and right tilt.”
Galaxy round has 5.7inch, 1080p Super-AMOLED display. It is 7.9mm thick and weighs around 154gm. The device has a powerhouse of 2800mAh. It has a beasty 2.3GHz Exynos quad-core processor. But some other websites state that it has Snapdragon 800 one in its system. It has 3GB RAM as we found in its other top end phablet Galaxy Note 3.It has a rear camera of 13 MP.
This whole new concept of curved screen was earlier mentioned by Nokia and Apple as they were working on it for years. But Samsung was able to produce and release it much earlier than them. Samsung took this decision as it was facing a slowdown in the market. And by releasing this gadget it may get a boost it needed for the organization.
After its super hit release of G2, LG is gearing up for its release of its inaugural curved smartphone G Flex. The Galaxy Round will first release in South Korea as “Luxury brown” variant.
Now let us see how such a change will bring a change of taste among the users.
