An Android fan like me would go crazy for having a first experience of any new Android device in the market. The dream of holding Nexus 4 in your hand brings you into a new different world of Android experience. In our previous post we let you know the pre-order of Nexus 4. This week our website www.stuffchip.com got an opportunity to unbox and review another product of Google and father of all Android phones-Nexus 4. We depict a brief review regarding unboxing and review of Google Nexus 4.
Unboxing Of Nexus 4
The LG Nexus 4 device comes with a compact and trendy packet. The box dimensions would be around 7 x 3.5 x 3(in inch). With the print of LG and Nexus 4 on both sides make the boxing a bit elegant. The back of the box holds the some features supported by the device, from Google. Basically it describes how this device avails the best features provided by Google like Android beam, cloud syncing and latest Android updates.
Inside the box of Nexus 4
On pushing out the main tray of the box, you will find the LG Nexus device covering the entire front of the tray. Below it you will find User guide, LG quality earphone, USB cord and an adapter. The flashy and shiny black surface of the device steals the show.
Build and quality of Nexus 4
The device builds and design has got so called new “avatar” from the earlier Samsung Nexus device. It is what something you don’t expect from LG. The overall device feature in terms of look is marvellous. I don’t know about the white one but the black one looks ravishing one. Nexus 4 has dimensions of 5.27×2.7×0.36 (in inch) and weighs around 139 gms. The side panel of the device is somewhat hard fibre and doesn’t bring any cheapness to the phone. It comes with inbuilt battery feature. So there is absence of any back removable cover. The corning back glass design takes the device looks to a level higher. The position of camera, flash and the inscription of the word “nexus” are really different from other devices.
LG Nexus 4 is powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon APQ8064 Qualcomm processor. It has a GPU of Adreno 320. The benchmark test of the device proved to have better points then Galaxy Note2 and other devices of this range. It runs on Android jellybean 4.2.1 and is upgradable to jellybean 4.2.2. Google has promised that this device will get all the updates regarding Android OS.
Nexus 4 dazzles with 4.7 inch True HD IPS display. The screen is capacitive in nature. It has a screen resolution of 1280×768 with 318 ppi. The pixel density is quite good enough. The size of icons and tabs are magnified enough. Its IPS display is better than IPS display provided by LG in its other commercial phone like optimus L5. Its corning Gorilla glass 2 brightens up the device.
It has an 8 megapixel auto-focus rear view camera. The quality of snap is comparatively good and noise free. It has a LED flash also. It can record full HD videos. Nexus 4 has trendy 1.3 MP front facing camera for video calling and skype functions. Below is a picture captured from Nexus 4’s 8MP camera.
Other features of Nexus 4
It comes with NFC. Google named it as Android beam. This feature is something we are looking forward. The new customised jellybean is quite different from other Android. The process tray is different and easy to use. By holding the home button the OS takes you a recent process tray where you can close the unnecessary processes that are running in background. It comes with a non-removable battery of 2100mAh which provides upto 15hr of talk time in 3G. It has a micro sim slot at side panel of the device.
It comes in white and black variant form. In case of white only the back side of the device is only white in colour and the side panel also. The screen part is totally black. It also has two variants regarding memory storage: 8GB and 16GB. 8GB is still to be launched in India.
8GB costs around $320 while the 16GB costs around $520.
Nexus device are always been the frontrunner in the Android market. With the release of this product Google not only took the Android market in its own hand but also gave a nightmare to other leading Android subscribing companies. This device might not get that much hit in US as it doesn’t come with 4G LTE. Another demerit is its memory is not expandable and you have to wipe your phone continuously a lot fingerprints impression would cover the screen and back glass part. I would suggest android admirers those who are going for quad-core phones to go for Nexus 4. It is worth to enough than any other phones in this range.
