World’s slimmest phone: Huawei Ascend P6

The leading Chinese Smartphone maker Huawei is looking up forward to be it the elite Android club and mark its presence in leading android devices. Earlier with release of Ascend P2 Huawei has proved its ability to build elegance with technology and now, with the release of Ascend P6 the telephone networking gear maker has got enough attention from leading phone makers.

Naming it “world’s slimmest phone”, Huawei Ascend P6 is 6.18mm thick which is said to have 1.4mm thinner from iPhone 5 and 3.1mm slimmer than HTC one. The design is somewhat similar with iPhone. This phone not only elegant in design but also gives you a premium feel. Ascend P6 has got better build and design when compared to Galaxy S4.

Let’s take about its specs and features:

How it is different from others?

The ever slimmest Smartphone Ascend P6 has a remarkable thickness of 6.18mm based upon which Huawei has launched this phone on 18th of June. P6 sports with 4.7 inch capacitive display with a splendid screen resolution of 1280×720 and pixel density of 312ppi. The device comes with quad-core Huawei chip set (Huawei K3V2) and has clock speed of 1.5 GHz. It is powered Android jellybean 4.2.2 OS. It is backed up by hearty 2GB RAM.

Ascend P6 thickness

It weighs around 120gm and thereby 10gms lighter than Galaxy S4 or Nexus 4.

The design and look which makes it different from other leading smart phones. It has already over crossed iPhone 5 and Galaxy S4 on basis of dimensions and design. It has used its own user interface called Emotion UI 1.6 which provides a fresh interface and new visual themes. The user interface used has customized the Android settings a bit. Here there no app tray. Like iPhone all the apps are on the home-screen. The user must carefully organize the apps which it would require immediately. The color production is excellent. It has a feature called Magic touch which allows user to use phone while using gloves. It is good for the users living in very cold climate and wearing gloves is of primary concern.

Emotion UI

It comes with 8MP rear view auto-focus camera with a LED flash. It is able to capture quality pictures and also support 1080p video recording. It also has a front facing camera of 5MP which supports 720p recording. This phone would be great for Skype users and would come handy for regular video callers.

This device is backed up by a 2040mAh battery. Though the power backup is not tested completely yet and i think the present capacity might be insufficient for the device to run for a day. It comes with dual micro SIM slot. Generally P6 has an inbuilt storage of 8GB but it has micro-SD slot and can be expandable up to 32GB.

One thing odd about Ascend P6 is the positioning of audio jack. It is built on the left-bottom part of the phone. Generally it is covered by metal hub like cover whose one end is needle sharp. At first glance you would think it as some kind of button. That pin like hub is provided to access micro-SIM and micro-SD slots. This feature looks some kind of trendy but i think it is cumbersome. Its power button, volume rocker and SIM slots are present right side of the device which is slightly unorthodox in nature. The microUSB is situated upper side of the device.

The only problem regarding the company is its late release dates in other countries. By the time this device reach U.S, its value got lost. The credit should be given to Huawei to able to think out of box regarding design and built. The Emotion UI and Magic touch features are something cherish upon. We wish company good luck on its unorthodox design and hope users would appreciate it.
